Visiting Ireland

Lots of people visit Ireland (Eire) every year. Many come because their family originated in Ireland. Others to enjoy the legendary "craic" and hospitality. Whatever the reason, Ireland is an excellent country to visit....just make sure that you pack your rainproof gear!

Northern Ireland has recently experienced a huge increase in visitors. For years very few people wanted to visit Northern Ireland, mainly due to the conflict that existed in the North for over 30 years.

However, nowadays visitors can feel safe in visiting Northern Ireland, and enjoying the wonderful scenery, bustling cities, and unparalleled warmth of its' inhabitants. The Giants Causeway, the modern city of Belfast, and the ecclesiastical capital of Armagh.....Northern Ireland has much to offer the visitor!

For great local accommodation in County Armagh, consider Montagu Arms; a wonderful and charming, Northern Ireland Tourist Board approved guesthouse, set in the sleepy village of Tandragee. The property has six guestrooms, including family rooms, and has a bar and wonderful restaurant. Secure, private, off street parking is available, and there are a wealth of local attractions and places of interest. Located a short drive from Armagh City, and approximately half an hour from Belfast, the Montagu offers a great base from which to explore Ireland.

If you plan on visiting Galway, you should check out Killary Harbor, Ireland's only fjord. Oran Daly, a good friend of ours runs a charming guesthouse overlooking Killary Harbor...he would love to help make your visit to Ireland a particularly memorable one!
