Welcome to Rooted in Ireland!"A society grows great when they plant trees whose shade they will never sit in" - ancient proverb

Are you looking for a nice way to mark someone's life? Are you looking for a unique Irish way to mark an extra special occasion? Or are you looking for a condolence tribute for the relatives of a person who has passed? Planting a memorial tree could be exactly what you are looking for!

Rooted in Ireland is an oak planting/memorial trees/remembrance tree program based in County Armagh, Ireland, and what we do is simple really; we plant an oak tree in honor of your chosen recipient, on our dedicated site outside Armagh City in Ireland. When you dedicate a tree in honor or memory of someone, we assign a number to it, and enter the recipient's name in our Tree Ledger. We then send you (or directly to the gift's recipient) a certificate of dedication, plus a frame ready photograph of the memorial trees growing on our site, with a personalized letter detailing the oak tree dedication. Up to 10% of each purchase goes to Marie Curie Cancer Research.  Armagh City is an area steeped in history and has been the spirtual capital of Ireland for 1500 years. It has been an educational center since the time of Saint Patrick, and is the burial place of Brian Boru, the most famous of Ancient High Kings of Ireland.

The oak trees we plant are generally 3 - 5 feet tall, and over the coming centuries will grow to hundreds of feet tall! They will remain planted on the site for the natural duration of their lives.......it is not our intention to cut them down for timber at a later stage.

Giving someone the gift of an oak tree planted in Ireland really is a touching way to memorialise someone's life, or to mark a special event like a wedding, birthday,  or christening. It is a well known fact that planting trees can help offset our carbon footprint, so dedicating a tree with us improves the environment also. Help us plant trees in Ireland, dedicate an oak tree today!

Starting in March 2010, we are launching a section on the site for memorial pages; when you dedicate a tree you can also send us information about the person to whom the tree is dedicated, and we will create a page on the website about them. You may also include a picture(s) that we will post on the page. There will be no additional charges for this feature!

If you have any questions whatsoever, please contact us .....we really would love to hear from you!
